This semester has been an experimentation and growth as I refine my art practice and take on exciting new projects. My main focus has been pushing the boundaries of traditional sculpture with digital innovations, mainly through my project titled "From Pixels to Iron." I'm currently exploring this work's transition into embossed paper, using 3D-printed lithographs pressed into soaked paper. Next semester, I’ll continue this journey by casting these designs in different metals to blend tactile techniques with digital imagery.
I’ve also been fine-tuning my "Iron Elegance" series, an exploration of resilience and strength using rebar and cast metals, inspired by my research into rebar construction and its role in modern infrastructure. Working with projection mapping for large-scale outdoor installations, I envision a community-focused project highlighting resilience and recovery, themes close to my heart and personal journey.
In addition, I’m grateful to have had the chance to share my work in several exhibitions this fall. The support from UReCA and mentors has been invaluable as I navigate this phase of my journey, preparing for my next step into graduate school and looking ahead to more ways to integrate digital and sculptural practices. The process has been challenging, but each new material and technique brings fresh insight and opportunities for a deeper connection with my art.
Thanks for following along, and stay tuned for more updates as I continue these projects and look for new inspirations!
