Color & Light

In thoughts of abstraction and how I can use my love of both photography and sculpture to make a unique piece, I used color acrylic sheets, studio lighting, and light gels to construct multiple shots to tell a story of building and change—allowing the colors of the different sheets and the light used to play with each other. Allowing the pieces to hold each other up, I went through many iterations of them falling apart before I could shoot the images; I had so much fun building it became a game of keeping a steady hand like building a house of cards. I took influence from Barbra Kasten and the images she creates, also with acrylic sheets and studio lights. Viewing these images shows a progression from the building to the melting of these colorful sheets.
